Melody Piranian or "Mel", is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). She is originally from southern Virginia. Melody received her undegraduate degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University. While in Virginia, she trained at The Children's Hospital of King's Daughters.

Melody relocated to Philadelphia, PA to attend graduate nursing school at the University of Pennsylvania. Melody graduated in 2016 and has enjoyed being a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner ever since. She is passionate about adolescent medicine and mental health.

Melody resides in South Philadelphia with her boyfriend and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and "healthy living".

Pediatric Associates: Delaware County, PA - January 2017 to Present
Currently work as a nurse practitioner in a private primary care office. Work as an independent provider in office seeing patients birth through twenty-two years of age. Average seeing approximately twenty-five to thirty-five patients per day. Participate in night and weekend on call pool. Provide well visit care and acute care. Establishing strong rapport with my patients and their families is of utmost importance to me.

Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD): Norfolk, VA - May 2015 to September 2015
Worked as a registered nurse on an inpatient monitored bed unit. I saw children of various diagnoses including cardiovascular illnesses, seizure disorders, psychiatric illnesses, cystic fibrosis, post kidney transplant, post scoliosis repair, and many others. Worked as part of a health care team in providing comprehensive health care to the patients.

Old Dominion University Children's Learning and Research Center: Norfolk, VA - August 2012 to May 2015
Worked as a lead qualified teacher assistant in mainly the infant room at a child development center with children ages 8 weeks to 18 months. I also have floated around to work with various groups up to age 6. Helped promote children's optimal learning and development. Focus on social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development. Was able to collaborate with occupational therapy students, physical therapy students, speech pathology students, and early childhood education student to foster the growth of both typically developing and developmentally delayed children.

Temporary position. Lead art programs to groups of children of various ages in the art studio located within the museum. Was able to incorporate fine motor development into the lesson plans. Helped me improve my leadership skills and ability to teach children of different developmental stages.
